The Phantom Airborne Brigade Inc. (PAB) is a member-owned, Florida-based nonprofit organization recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) charitable entity. All monetary and in-kind contributions are tax-deductible under U.S. law. PAB operates entirely through dedicated volunteers and has no paid employees. Every dollar received directly supports our mission to honor and uphold the spirit of the Airborne Brotherhood by fostering continued engagement with the Airborne community before, during, and after military service.
Membership is open to qualified military parachutists, active duty, reserve, or retired, from the United States or allied nations.
Any veteran who has successfully completed military airborne training at the designated jump school of their respective military organization—including foreign military veterans—is eligible to participate in jump activities. Verification of qualification, such as a copy of the DD-214 or equivalent official documentation, will be required. A veteran shall be considered a “Jumping Member in Good Standing” upon submission of proper documentation and payment of applicable dues. Only individuals holding current Event or Annual Membership status in good standing are authorized to participate in jump operations.
Register on the Phantom Airborne site. Select which type of membership you desire. Once of the two options are needed if you want to jump with us: Annual – Allows you to participate in multiple events during a year Single Event – Good for one year after purchase and is good for one event Support Member – For those who don’t jump and want to volunteer Free – This will only put you on our mailing list
Jumpers must submit a waiver of liability, a medical emergency data sheet, and proof of current airborne qualification. Provide proof of military Airborne training (static line), preferably a DD-214 with redacted SSN, and other examples of forms accepted, but limited to (2 forms must be provided). All documents must be verified by the Jumpmaster prior to manifest.
To ensure the highest level of safety and proficiency among our jumpers, we are introducing the Basic Airborne Refresher (BAR). This focused course is designed to enhance skills, boost confidence—particularly for newer jumpers—and minimize the risk of injury. Our goal is to make every jump safer, more effective, and aligned with the standards of the Phantom Airborne Brigade. All military-trained parachutists must complete the BAR prior to participating in a jump with us—unless they have executed a round canopy jump with any recognized organization within the past 12 months. If these requirements are not met, you will be removed from the manifest and issued a refund in accordance with our refund policy. This ensures the safety and success of every member on the team. Effective June 2023, completion of the Basic Airborne Refresher (BAR) is mandatory for all land jumps with the Phantom Airborne Brigade if you have not conducted a round canopy jump within the past 12 months. Please note that water jumps do not require BAR; however, they also do not fulfill the BAR requirement for land jumps. Once completed, BAR certification is valid for 90 days. For example, if you plan to jump in June but cannot attend the June BAR, you may attend the April session instead. The course is approximately 3 hours long and is fully hands-on. During the session, you will review: *Proper donning of the SF-10 main parachute and reserve *Buddy rigging procedures *Activation and demonstration of the reserve parachute *Canopy release assembly operation *Aircraft procedures and in-flight actions *Steering and controlling the SF-10 canopy *Turns, slips, entanglement responses, emergency procedures *Correct landing posture and Parachute Landing Falls (PLFs) *And more essential jump safety protocols This refresher is designed to ensure all participants are confident, capable, and ready to jump safely. Location for Training will be provided with the event and later by an email from one of our volunteer staff You can sign for the BAR up on the events page.
The Brigade typically provides the main and reserve parachutes. Jumpers are required to have appropriate boots with ankle support, a uniform (see uniform policy), and a suitable helmet. Personal altimeters are optional but recommended.
Land Jump Uniform: MULTICAM PANTS AND SHIRT, ANKLE SUPPORT JUMP BOOT (tan), bump helmet. If you are just starting and have not gotten a set of multicam’s then you can wear the uniform you used while in service (if you can still fit in them). Water Jump Uniform: TSHIRT, SHORTS, WATER SHOES or any shoes you don’t mind getting wet.
PROTECTIVE HEADGEAR The Ballistic Helmet, or the ACH, is NOT NORMALLY used during PAB airborne operations, but is approved for land jumps. There are many versions available in today’s market, the jumper should ensure the type they obtain has either a double web chinstrap or a chin cup, both types must have at least (4) connection points. All helmets must be fitted properly to ensure they stay on the parachutists’ heads during deployment of their parachutes and during parachute landing falls. Amazon sells several bump helmets, check out the one you think will provides your head protection. We have loaner helmets for first time jumpers if you are unable to acquire before your first jump Phantom does not recommend one brand over another. IRT to any bump helmet you jump SHOULD (not must) wear, it SHOULD meet or exceed CEEN 12492 (impact) and 1385 (buoyancy) ratings. Upon being asked which companies made bump helmets that meet these standards, several were named. Regardless of what brands are mentioned, it would be incumbent on the purchaser to ensure that they are getting what they are paying for. The only must is that the helmet must have a 4 point retention (chin strap) system so it can be properly JMPI’d.
Volunteers are the backbone of our operation. Non-jumpers can assist with manifest, ground crew duties, parachute packing (if qualified), logistics, photography, and setting up the drop zone (DZ).
We schedule jump operations approximately once a month, weather permitting. Special events and memorial jumps may occur more frequently. These standard monthly training jump are to keep the group current and suppling the adrenaline needed by some. We put on various Events during the year which includes, water jumps, land jumps celebrating occasions and those that have departed. Check the "Events" calendar for the most up-to-date schedule.
Jumping public demo jumps, the FAA requires all jumpers be in current status (one jump in the last 180days). You also need to show members you have good canopy control, the best way to do that is jump often.
We utilize a variety of aircraft depending on availability and the DZ, including C-47 Skytrains (for that WWII feel), C-46s, and modern utility aircraft like the Cessna Caravan or Skyvan.
Jump fees are generally non-refundable if a jumper cancels within 48 hours of the event. If operations are cancelled due to weather or mechanical issues, credits are typically applied to future jumps.
Merchandise is available at the DZ during jump operations or can be ordered through our Quartermaster page on the website. We accept cash and major credit cards.
